Choose to Follow Him

John 10:14 (Jesus said) “I am the good shepherd; I know my sheep and my sheep know me.”

John 10:27 “My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me.”  

Following Jesus is an adventure!

Are you in an adventure with Jesus?

If not, listen to His voice.  Follow Him.

One friend and her husband have followed Him,

through giving up almost everything they own,

and followed His voice to a new ministry in London.

My husband and I followed His voice to Florida,

and followed Him through illness, to healing,

and now we are ministering to others in our home.

Another friend of mine is following Jesus,

ministering to 3 children she adopted.

Three very different adventures!

I could not go on the London adventure,

or the adoption adventure,

because I have been prepared by God,

to follow Jesus here, right where I am.

No one else could tell us,

that she and her husband should go to London and minister there,

and my husband and I should go to Florida and buy a house to minister in,

and she should adopt 3 children —

because no one else would know.

Only Jesus knows the path each of us should take!

Listen to His voice,

and choose to follow Him.

Do you think you can’t hear His voice?

You can, if you believe in Jesus and what He said.

John 10:3b-4 (Jesus said) “…He calls his own sheep by name and leads them out.  When He has brought out all His own, He goes ahead of them, and His sheep follow Him because they know His voice.”

People may have different ways to hear His voice.

I use prayer.  I focus on God.  I recite Scripture that is meaningful to me.

Then I ask Jesus to speak to me, because I want to follow Him.

Following Him can be risky, can be scary, can be challenging,

but it will help others, and He goes ahead of you.

You do not go alone, Jesus is leading the way.

Much of my life, I did not follow Him.

Over time I made the effort to hear His voice,

and read Scripture, studied it, and learned from it,

so now it is easier to hear His voice.

Following Jesus is a very intimate relationship.

Trust Him with all your heart.

Following Jesus will always be an adventure.
