Following God One Step at a Time

Step Up to the New Year

on December 29, 2013

As I said in my last post, 2013 was a TOUGH year for many of us!
I am so glad to be leaving it behind.
There is no way I want to bring all the tears, and pain, and destruction into next year —
which means I have a few days to change direction and step up to the New Year!

What do I want to do in the New Year?
I want to do more for children who are hungry, sick, or alone.
I want to do more at church to help people get closer to Jesus.
I want more joy, more laughter, more satisfaction, more friends.
I want to learn more about God.
I want to see more of God, and listen to what God is saying.
I want to find people who inspire me to do more and do it better.
How about you? What do you want to do in the New Year?

So let’s do this together! We can drop the load of tough stuff from this past year.
Just drop it! We don’t need it anymore!
Then step up and stand on that pile of old junk.
Now we have climbed higher. Now we are stronger! Now we are wiser!
From the top, we can leave it all behind — and
STEP UP to the New Year!

It is going to feel so good to leave it all behind!
We can forgive. We can forget it all.
I can feel the change already. I am eager to reach the New Year!
The New Year is going to be so much better than this last year!

So now, I just need to forgive, forget, climb up, and STEP UP to the New Year.
Let’s do it together. We still have time. Ready? 1 — 2 — 3 — STEP UP!

  1. Just a note from the author —
I really would love to know what you would like to do in the New Year. Leave me a comment, and I will respond. Thanks.
