Ok, I know that isn’t the most exciting title,
but it is what I need to do today.
How about you? Can you use some prayers and rest today?
I am fighting a respiratory flu, that has me wore out.
That is why I need rest today.
Prayer is something I always do when I rest.
I know so many people who need prayers.
Don’t know who to pray for? How about family? Brother, sister, parents, aunt, uncle?
co-workers? boss? neighbors? Mayor, Governor, President?
So now we have a list of people to pray for.
What should we pray for?
Here is a list of things most people need —
Healing, protection, financial help, patience, courage, and rest.
Who doesn’t need all those things?
Now, one more thing,
I will pray for you, please pray for me too.
Thanks! Now take time out to rest.
Pray and rest! A truly holy calling…a Sabbath rest! Enjoy your time of refreshment, Janet!
Praying for your healing!

Yes, Joe! It is hard to go wrong with pray and rest. I have been trying to rest on Sabbaths this year, and make it a habit.
Thanks for stopping by! –Janet

These quiet times are necessary for us all. I’ve been promising myself some rest as soon as I get back from teaching my class. Rest and sleep, my friend.

Pamela, I hope you get to have that rest soon. We all need to be refreshed.

I am sorry you are under the weather, Janet – but you do make a good point: rest and recovery gives us the opportunity to pray and reflect. Sometimes I think illness is the way God is telling us to slow down and be still.

Yes, Michelle, illness has brought me to many times of rest and recuperation both physically and spiritually. If we practice Sabbath rest, we may have fewer illnesses. I am hoping that will be so.
